Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Certification

Broad Based Black Economic Empowerment Certification

The minister has approved IRBA (Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors) as a B-BBEE Regulatory body which came into effect in October 2011. This means that auditors can now be accredited by their own body, IRBA (Independent Regulatory Body for Auditors) in order to verify BEE certificates.

They will be known as “Approved Registered Auditors”. Previously only SANAS was able to accredit agencies. It is expected that this should result in more organisations being able to verify; thereby hopefully offering a higher quality of work; and most importantly consistency of verification.

Strategic Audit Techniques Incorporated will be empowered by IRBA to provide B-BBEE assurance services and to issue valid B-BBEE Verification Certificates to measured entities in terms of the applicable Codes and Standards.
